About BKHL, The PARLOUR

BKHL combines 2 distinct traditions: Low Tea & High Tea. Low Tea originated in the 1830s, designed as a light snack for the upper class, The tea was served at low tables with dainty sandwiches, petit fours, and elegant china. High Tea, on the other hand, was a full meal meant to replenish laborers after their physically demanding jobs. Brooklyn High Low offers two tea experiences: The Grand Vanderbilt, and the Grand Heights. Each experience offers savory bites, baked goods,& sweets prepared in house . Our sitting room provides a cozy and calm atmosphere with low tables, comfortable antique chairs, and vintage decor. It's the perfect place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

We had a wonderful time at the Parlour location. The staff were so kind and accommodating (it’s important to book the vegan upgrade at least 48 hours ahead of time). All the 5 teas we tried were special, and it was good to know that you can request a smaller pot to have room to drink different teas (a normal pot gives 4 cups of tea). Our vegan Grand Heights came with carrot soup, crumpets, super delicious sandwiches (I could eat the jackfruit curry sandwich every day), scones, 2 kinds of jam, maple whipped butter 😍, stroopwafels, chocolate-covered strawberries, mini tarts, and spiced chai pudding with whipped oat cream. We were also gifted 2 cute heart-shaped single-serving tea infusers. The setup was very unique and cozy, the chairs were comfy, and we felt so pampered throughout the experience. Even though I made the reservation late, we were still offered the full vegan experience, and were offered to select a few teas before the visit so that they could be ready to enjoy as soon as we were seated. Calling all vegans to book your reservations here if you want to be treated as first-class customers (as opposed to being offered salad and berries with syrup under the name of incl

Fantastic experience featuring blends of flavored tea mixes instead of traditional specialty teas. We had full tea service which included a lovely array of sandwiches, delicious scones and crumpets, and yummy desserts.

I highly recommend coming here! For two or a small group, really pleasant experience. The tea selection is awesome, we got the bourbon cinnamon and the almond lemon panna cotta, both were unique and super tasty. I'm failing to remember the names of the tea server and food server but they were fantastic, too! It's an indulgent experience, every detail is deliberate. Not the best quality photo/shot, but this tea pot was so beautiful, loved it.

I loved the BKHL, The Parlour on 7th Ave Park Slope even being a neighbor for years only today I finally walked in. What to say? It’s beautiful, cozy, really delightful and the teas and sandwiches are delicious. Also the girls working there are very sweet and professionals. So niceπŸ«–β˜•οΈπŸ―πŸͺ πŸͺ·πŸŒ·πŸͺ» πŸ’—

Took my mom for her birthday and it exceeded expectations. I’ve been to several tea house experiences over the years, and this one was my favorite. The food was actually *excellent* - sandwiches, scones, cookies, chocolate mousse - all of it! The service was knowledgeable and kind and we didn’t feel rushed at all. One teeny tiny suggestion/ note is that it was so sweet that everyone wished my mom a happy birthday as I put it in the res notes - and I’m wondering if perhaps bringing a tiny extra treat or a non-flammable candle/ sparkly something would have felt extra special for her. But everything was wonderful and I will definitely come back again and again!
